Most club cyclists in Jersey have at some point attended this typically French event which usually attracts well over 1,000 cyclists of all abilities. Choose from 3 distances: 80km, 120km and 200km, so whether you’re a complete beginner, or an experienced racer, this event is the one in our annual calendar that brings everyone together.
Jersey Port
20/06/2019 – 08:55
We all meet at the ferry terminal for an 08:55 departure. Upon arrival in St. Malo we’ll transfer you to our hotel in St. Brieuc where your bike and luggage will already be waiting. After a quick check-in we head for a light lunch before returning to our hotel, changing into lycra and riding to sign-on, followed by an hour’s activation ride.
Friday evening we head to a local restaurant for dinner and drinks before a relatively early night and plenty of time to lay awake thinking about tomorrow’s event!
Up bright and early for breakfast before a race start of 08:00 (200km), 09:00 (80km / 120km). After the race we all meet up at race HQ for lunch, drinks, photos and chat about the day’s event. We usually head back to the hotel mid-afternoon to shower, before heading down the road to the local cafe/bar for more drinks.
Saturday evening we then head to a local restaurant for dinner and drinks. The party animals amongst us then head to a bar or two for yet more drinks. See the common theme running through this event!
No rush to rise early today as we have pretty much the entire day to return to St. Malo. We do however need to pack and check-out of our hotel. Some of us choose to ride back to St. Malo (approximately 70km) and some not, the choice is yours. Don’t want to ride then our coach will take you back.
Once back in St. Malo there’s usually time to do some last minute shopping, grab lunch and of course even more drinks! Our ferry usually arrives back in Jersey early evening.
